Privacy Policy

SureVett (“we”, “our”, “us”) builds tools that help you detect fake reviews and make informed shopping decisions. This policy covers the SureVett Chrome extension, the surevett.com website, and the upcoming mobile app.

Chrome Extension

Data the extension collects

Product page data (processed locally): When you visit a supported product page, SureVett reads publicly available information from the page: product title, price, rating, review statistics, seller name, and brand. This data is analyzed on your device to generate trust scores. It is not sent to any server unless you are signed in (see below).

Optional account data: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo from Google. This is used solely to associate your data with your account and is stored securely in our Supabase-hosted database.

Price history (optional, signed-in users): When signed in, product prices you encounter are recorded to our database to build crowd-sourced price history. This data is associated with products, not with your browsing history.

Analysis cache (optional, signed-in users): Trust score results may be cached on our servers to speed up analysis for other users viewing the same product. Cached data contains product analysis only, with no personal or browsing information.

Data the extension does NOT collect

• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not collect data on non-product pages
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties
• We do not use cookies or tracking pixels
• We do not collect data for advertising purposes

Data storage and security

All analysis runs locally on your device by default. If you sign in, data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) enabled. All connections use TLS encryption. Authentication tokens are stored in your browser's local extension storage.

Third-party services

• Google OAuth: Used for optional sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Hosts our database and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.

Website (surevett.com)

Analytics

This website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. No personal information is collected or stored from website visitors.

Email collection

We collect email addresses only when you voluntarily submit them through our waitlist or notification forms. Your email is used solely to notify you about SureVett product launches and updates. We never share or sell your email to third parties. You can request deletion of your email at any time by contacting privacy@surevett.com. No other personal data is collected through the website.

Mobile App (Coming Soon)

When the SureVett iPhone app launches, the same privacy principles apply:

• The app will not collect personal data
• The app will not track your location
• Product analysis data is processed the same way as the Chrome extension (anonymous, no PII)
• The Safari extension follows the same privacy practices as the Chrome extension
• The Share Sheet extension only processes the Amazon URL you share. It does not access other apps or data.

Your Rights

You can use the SureVett extension without signing in, with no account or personal data required. If you have an account, you can sign out and uninstall the extension at any time. To request deletion of your account data or email address, contact privacy@surevett.com.

Children's Privacy

SureVett is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
